- Content entered by the user through the consultation feature
- Usage information: device information, log information, app usage history, and the like
2. Purpose of Use
We use the information we collect for the following purposes.
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App and the Service
- To suggest skincare routines tailored to each user, to record and analyze skin condition, and to respond to consultations
- To respond to inquiries from users
- For identity verification and prevention of fraudulent use
- To send important notices and other communications regarding the Service
- For analysis to improve the quality of the Service and to develop new features
3. Handling of Sensitive Information
The App may collect information related to health, such as information about skin condition. We handle such information only within the scope of the purposes of use set out in this Policy and will not use it for any other purpose without the user’s consent.
Because this information may be treated as sensitive information, we obtain your explicit consent as a separate item from consent to the handling of other information during the in-app consent flow. When we ask for consent, we also show the information collected, the purpose of use, the retention period, and what happens if you decline.
4. In-App Consent Flow
When you start using the App (and whenever we revise what we ask consent for), we present each item of consent separately and ask you to agree item by item. No checkbox is pre-selected.
- Required: confirmation that you are 14 or older, agreement to the Terms of Service, collection and use of personal information, handling of skin and health information, and transfer of personal information outside your country
- Optional: cooperation with usage analytics. You can use every feature of the App even if you decline
Withdrawing consent: You can change optional consent at any time from My Page. Required consent is essential to providing the App, so if you wish to withdraw it, please delete your account from My Page. Deleting your account also deletes the information you have entrusted to us.
5. Provision to Third Parties
We will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the user’s prior consent, except in the following cases.
- Where required by law
- Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the person’s consent
- Where cooperation is required with a government agency performing duties prescribed by law
6. Outsourcing to and Cooperation with External Services
In providing the Service, we use the external services described below and may outsource the handling of personal information to them to that extent. We exercise necessary oversight to ensure that these providers maintain appropriate safeguards.
- Authentication and database infrastructure (such as Supabase): for account authentication and data storage
- Hosting and server infrastructure (such as Vercel): to provide the application
- External sign-in (such as Google): when a user chooses to sign in using that method
- Generative AI and analysis services (such as Google Gemini): to provide skincare suggestions and the consultation feature (input content may be transmitted to the extent necessary)
- Access analytics and product analytics (such as PostHog): to understand app usage (behavioral data such as screen views and actions) and improve features. We do not transmit skin- or health-related information or content entered through the consultation feature. Users may opt out of analytics at any time from within the App’s settings.
Some of these external services may store or process information outside Japan. We exercise necessary oversight over the handling of personal information by external services and comply with applicable laws and regulations. Please also review the privacy policies of each service provider.
7. Security Measures
We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information we collect, and to otherwise ensure the security of personal information.
8. Requests for Disclosure, Correction, Deletion, and Other Actions
Users may request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use of their own personal information held by us. To make such a request, please contact us through the support channel within the App or at the contact address we otherwise separately provide. We will respond in accordance with applicable law after verifying the requester’s identity.
When a user deletes their account, we delete their Registered Information, except for information we are legally required to retain.
9. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies
The App and related web pages may use cookies, similar technologies, and device identifiers to improve service convenience and to understand usage.
10. Use by Minors
Because the App handles health-related information, it is not available to anyone under the age of 14. We confirm that you are 14 or older during the in-app consent flow. If we learn that information belonging to someone under 14 has been registered, we will delete that account and the registered information.
If a minor aged 14 or older uses the App, they should do so with the consent of a parent or other legal guardian.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may amend this Policy as necessary. The amended Policy takes effect from the time it is posted within the App or on our website.
12. Contact
For inquiries regarding this Policy, please contact us through the support channel within the App or at the contact address we otherwise separately provide.
